Reed Smith LLP today announced the addition of Jared Hershberg to the New York office, where he will be a partner in the Corporate and Transactional Advisory Group (CTAG). Hershberg was most recently a partner at Winston & Strawn. His arrival follows closely on those of Danielle Carbone, Andrew Callahan and Robbie Scheininger, who have all recently joined CTAG in New York.
“The expansion of our corporate practice in New York is a top priority for our group and Jared is a perfect addition,” said CTAG Practice Group Leader Matt Petersen. “Jared is an extremely talented lawyer whose experience plays to our strengths. His client base includes family offices and upper-middle-market private equity funds, which is a great fit for our strong private equity and wealth planning practices. His focus on the energy and infrastructure industries is a natural complement to Reed Smith’s world-class energy group. We are very excited to add Jared to our strong team in New York.”
Hershberg’s practice focuses on private equity investments, private investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and outside general counsel services. He regularly represents businesses and private equity, growth capital, venture capital, debt and hedge funds, as well as family offices and asset managers, in connection with control and non-control investments, acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, recapitalizations, equity and debt financings, joint ventures, strategic alliances, fund formations and other activities. He also represents limited partners in connection with direct fund investments, co-investments, and secondary limited partner interest transfers.
“We’re thrilled that Jared has joined us,” said Cindy Minniti, Office Managing Partner of Reed Smith’s New York office. “We’ve got a powerful corporate team here in New York and Jared’s experience and energy are a great fit. We’re very excited that our office continues to add terrific talent: over the last year we’ve added 8 partners and a total of 31 attorneys here in New York.”
Hershberg received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Columbia Business Law Review, and his B.A. in History and Political Science from Duke University. He is currently a member of the Law360 Private Equity Editorial Advisory Board. Prior to law school, Hershberg was a management consultant in the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology sectors with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
